Day 101/365: Portrait Of A Lens Bearer

(Edit: In an effort to turn the list of photos into a photo gallery the site spazzed and now there is only this one photo. Maybe I'll re-upload the rest in the future.)

Last Sunday Lisa invited me to her friend's make-shift college dorm photography studio to be one of the subjects of a male portrait book she's putting out on Blurb as her final project. Unfortunately, being the one who's typically behind the camera I am a terrible, boring model. But even if she didn't get many good shots of me, when we both got bored about 15 minutes in I took out my camera and got a few shots I like of her. I switched between auto exposure and the program auto setting, mostly around a 52mm zoom on a 9mm lens with a 1/15 shutter speed on the portraits. 400 ISO. These are unedited, but they could probably stand to be lightened a bit and maybe have her skin color brought out a little more. I tend to lean toward leaving my photos in as-shot form, only editing for sharpness when I do, though I've been playing around a little more lately. I'm a minimalist when it comes to editing, though sometimes that's a weak point of mine. But all in all I like how these came out, and it's been a long time since I had the time, energy, or travel fare to go out and use my DSLR. It always feels really good to hear that shutter.
